Meet The Team
SARAH
Director & Advanced Therapist
Sarah started beauty therapy training in 2002 and since then has continued to learn, develop and grow. She started her own business in 2013 and has a fabulous team that continues to grow alongside. Her vision for SMB was to create a space where everyone felt comfortable and welcome. Her love of people (and chatting) drew her into the industry and it is what keeps her here.
Skin has become her main focus and her passion for this shows. Currently she is completing her Level 4 in Advanced Skin Studies.
She is known for her signature nude nail and she is a lover of cats, gherkins and hot sauce.
EILIDH
Senior Skin Specialist + Beauty Therapist
Eilidh has been part of the team since 2022. You’ll find her having a giggle or telling us a funny story.
She has studied hard with us to develop her knowledge of the skin and how it functions. This enables her to have a deeper understanding of your skin and how best to move you towards your goals. She is one of the few DMK skin therapists in Scotland.
What Eilidh loves about the industry is helping people to not only look their best, but to feel their best. This is very important to her.
If she was stranded on a desert island, she would choose a supply of the humble potato because of its versatility. Excellent choice if you ask us.
ASHLEIGH
Senior Skin Specialist + Beauty Therapist
Ashleigh has a Diploma in Beauty Therapy and has worked in the industry for 18 years. (We don’t think she looks old enough either). Ashleigh’s expertise lies in treating skin. She has a wealth of skincare knowledge which feeds into her passion for setting up a unique, personalised plan’s for each client that will not disappoint.
She is trained in advanced skin treatments such as Micro-needling, HydraFacial and Hair Removal using electrolysis. She loves to work with you, to help you achieve your skin health goals and has a huge focus on Age Management.
Like Sarah, Ashleigh is a hippy at heart and loves crystals. She is a busy mum of 2 boys and loves spending time with her family, but equally lives for relaxing in a bubble bath when the kids are asleep.
LOUISA
Brow and Lash Specialist + Junior Skin Therapist
Louisa’s favourite treatments to do are brows, brows and……..brows! She loves the combo of brows alongside a lash lift, as she loves seeing her clients faces when they see the instant change. She love’s making people feel more confident and is at her happiest when her clients leave with a smile on their face.
Louisa’s favourite skin treatment is HydraFacial, nothing beats that post HydraFacial GLOW. Her favourite skin treatment to get is an AlumierMD Advanced treatment.
When Louisa is not at work, she love’s to travel and to catch up with friends over a nice cuppa!!
AMY
Beauty Therapist + Junior Skin Therapist
Amy is at her happiest delivering treatments and making people feel amazing. Amy enjoy’s all treatments but has a huge passion for Advanced Skin Treatments + Skin Care. She is currently studying her Level 4 qualification in Advanced Skin Science.
In her spare time she loves to explore new places with her fiancé and their dog Geoff.
Amy has been to Iceland twice in the last two years, with the obvious aim to see the northern lights, only to come home and see them weeks later from her bedroom window in Dunfermline! Both times!!
IRINA
Lead Nail Technician
Irina is originally from Lithuania but has been here in Scotland for over 9 years.
Irina is our resident nail queen, her attention to detail is like no other. Her main focus is on nail health and making sure your manicure is perfect every time.
A few things about Irina;
+ She thrives when learning new things.
+ She holds her breath while doing nail art so it is perfect.
+ She loves to be busy.
+ Once you sit in her nail chair and she starts chatting, there is no way back!
+ Coffee is her best friend. She will have it anyway, anytime and anywhere.
SIOBHAN
Clinic Co-ordinator
Siobhan is currently on Maternity Leave with her second little one. She joined us at the desk in 2021 and has become an integral part of the team. She grew up in Australia to German and Peruvian parents and has called Edinburgh home since 2016.
As clinic co-ordinator, Siobhan helps to keep the day to day running on track and behind the scenes she is the glue that holds us all (Sarah) together.
She loves video games, board games, keeping active and photography. She loves to spend time with her family in her spare time and also enjoys travel and being outdoors.
NICOLA
Clinic Co-ordinator (communications)
Nicola has become a very familiar face behind the desk. She has transitioned from front of house to parter up with Jenni to cover Siobhan’s maternity leave. Her kind, calming nature and eye for aesthetics means as soon as the sun shines, you’ll find her with her camera out trying to get as many cute snaps as possible. It also makes her our social media whizz, constantly trying to crack the Instagram algorithm (that in itself is a full time job).
Nicola loves all skin treatments and maintaining her glowy skin, she is a fan of a nude or pastel nail. When she’s not at work, you’ll find her catching up with friends at a yoga class, having a coffee or going for a dog walk, she also loves to travel.
She is also in charge of our recent ‘Beauty Re-gifting’ focus with Edinburgh based charity Sparkle Sisters. If you haven’t heard about it, please ask us, it’s a great cause.
JENNI
Clinic Co-ordinator (operations)
Jenni has transitioned from front of house to partnering up with Nicola covering Siobhan’s maternity leave as Clinic Co-ordinator.
Jenni’s bubbly, nurturing nature and love of chatting makes her perfect for the job. When she’s not behind the desk, you’ll find her keeping everything ticking along and updating a spreadsheet. She loves looking after her skin and since starting with us has become a DMK Enzyme Therapy addict.
When not at work Jenni loves walking and has recently completed some Munro’s. She also loves to spend time with her family and friends and travelling.
